It's always nice when your lifelong heroes turn out to be decent folk in real life.  Today in York the one and only Billy Bragg was in Borders signing copies of his latest book, The Progressive Patriot.  Although I didn't join the queue to get a signed copy (our car parking was due to run out), I watched for a while as he chatted engagingly and at length with each person in turn.  He came across as really down to earth and genuine, a man of the people.
