A few weeks ago, my Californian sweetheart, Jocelyn, bought an excellent book called Watching The English, by Kate Fox. She hasn't had much of a chance to read it yet, as I've hogged it so far. As well as the obvious entertainment that comes from reading a detailed description of one's own behavioural traits, it's been useful for proving to Jocelyn that some of my seemingly strange habits are merely a result of being English. I'm normal, honey!
